Why Are There No Scottish Free Bmds

This anthology we have in our hands presents ten contemporary Norwegian writers, between 35 and 85 years, attending literary generations and diverse faiths, but in which perhaps we can also intuit some common features. As usual in the literature, even in these stories is the recurring theme of human relationships. In all these stories are light and shadow, another characteristic feature of Norwegian literature of all time. In general, melancholy and realism appear as two sides of the same coin. The characters in these stories are men and women of flesh and blood, with their hopes and their traumas, their hopes and disappointments, and a stubborn search for something that provides meaning.
Each story is translated by a different translator, which we think providing a special richness to the anthology: ten writers and ten translators, among whom are both American and English, which is also reflected in the final language of the stories, in which we have tried to respect the differences and the richness of this language we speak many different peoples.
